ผ้าพุมเรียง เป็นมรดกตกทอดมาตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงธนบุรี เป็นศิลปหัตถกรรมพื้นบ้านภาคใต้ของกลุ่ม คนไทยมุสลิม อำเภอไชยา เป็นผ้าที่มีชื่อเสียงของจังหวัด ผ้าพุมเรียงมีทั้งที่ทอด้วยฝ้ายและไหม มีลักษณะเด่น ที่ต่างไปจากผ้าไหมของภาคอื่น ๆ คือ การทอยกดอกด้วยไหมและดิ้น ลวดลายโบราณที่ยังคงมีทุกวันนี้ คือ ลายราชวัตรลายโคม ลายดอกพิกุลและลายมุก เป็นต้น ทอโดยกลุ่มทอผ้าพุมเรียง ตำบลพุมเรียง อำเภอไชยา และยังมีผ้ามัดย้อมสีธรรมชาติ ผ้าไหม อำเภอท่าชนะ ผ้าทอบ้านในเขา ผ้าทอพื้นเมืองและผ้าบาติก อีกด้วย

Surat Thani

Pum-Reang cloth is a legacy from the Thonburi Reign. It is a traditional product from a group of Muslim people who live at Ban Pum Reang in Chaiya District. Pum-Reang silk or cotton, woven by the Pum Reang Weaving Group, at Pum-Reang Sub-district in Chaiya District, is famous for its distinctive patterns. Traditional patterns include Rachawat, Khom, Dok-Pikul and Muk. Other well known cloth includes tie-dyed fabric and silk from Tha Chana District, woven cloth from Ban Nai Khao, and other woven cloth including Batik.
